This tree is regarded as an excellent hedge or screening tree due to its dense foliage and fast growing speed. Moreover, it also produces small creamy-white flowers and attractive rose-purple fruits that are edible and attract birds and bees. It is naturally a rounded shape, but with some artistic pruning it can be shaped into practically any form, including intricate topiaries. A very versatile tree for almost any garden.
