This tree is a fantastic specimen for a large garden where it has ample space to form a beautiful spreading roundish canopy. The small hooked thorns adds protection for the nesting birds who often prefer this tree for this reason. The semi-deciduous nature of the tree allows dappled sunlight through in winter, making it ideal for a garden with a lawn. The flowers are sweetly scented and attracts bees and insects. This tree is tolerable of very hot and dry conditions. It also makes an excellent tree along our national roads where one can stop for a picnic in the shade. You just need enough space for it.
