An elegant tree that will continue to delight throughout the seasons. The dark leaves have a purplish cast to them which is reiterated in the attractive violet fruits. The fruit is consumed by birds, baboons, vervet monkeys, and bushpig. The small flowers appear in winter and attract insects and bees. The tree forms a dense canopy and is suitable for screening. It has has a good coastal and wind tolerance making it an excellent choice along our coastal areas in the Cape regions.
