No, it's not called a Sneezewood from the pollen! So all the folk with allergies can stand in line... because this is a beautiful tree species!
Before we tell you why this tree is beautiful and why you should have it in your garden, let's just get the curious question of why it's called a Sneezewood out of the way. According to PlantzAfrica, "Highly irritant, aromatic peppery oils, containing nieshoutol are produced by the wood, causing violent sneezing by woodworkers after sawing or sanding."
The Sneezewood has a wide range of uses in the garden. It can be planted in a pot, in a courtyard, in a large garden, in a small garden, as a hedge, as a privacy screen and you will be delighted with beautiful light green foliage and small sweetly scented flowers in your garden. Super hard wood means a slow grower, so if you want it big, get it big, but if you want it to stay small, buy it small and enjoy it for years and years!
