This is an ornamental tree that is fast growing, deciduous and tolerates clay soil. It provides dappled shade in Summer and shows off its beautiful structural form in Winter. Often confused with the indigenous Celtis africana due to the ability of the two species to cross pollinate and create hybrid natural species. Due to the hardy nature of the tree, you will also find it quite often in public parks and streets. No thorns and non-messy makes it an excellent addition for any family home.
