100 trees donated to Mount View High School

On 25 April 2019, Trees SA joined up with Madina Institute Centre for Non-Violence and Peace Studies to green up and clean up Mount View High School in Hanover Park, Cape Town.

The day was set aside to clean up the school grounds and plant trees and the learners took on the challenge with smiles on their faces and pride in their hearts.

# 350 learners involved
# Over 50 plastic bags full of plastic collected from school grounds for recycling
# food for 1200 provided
# 50k irrigation system installed for revamped soccer field
# 100 Oak trees planted

Trees SA is proud to have been able to donate the 100 trees and contribute towards this special day. Our sales team stayed behind to ensure the trees are correctly planted and cared for. What they didn’t expect to see was the immense pride the learners took in their individual trees. It started out with just a hole in the ground but it ended with personalised decorations around the trees. Each tree has its own stamp of individuality and some even found paint and painted the rocks around the trees!

We trust this day will stay with the learners for many years to come, and that one day they can tell their children that they planted those big oak trees on the soccer fields of Mount View High School.
